No more spying on citizens who are not suspected of a crime - Obama in 2007

Obama in 2007: No more spying on citizens who are not suspected of a crime

QUOTE; Created by President Truman in 1952, during the Korean War, the NSA is charged with protecting the United States from foreign security threats. The agency was considered so secret that for years the government refused to even confirm its existence. Government insiders used to joke that NSA stood for "No Such Agency."

QUOTE; PRISM is a clandestine mass electronic surveillance program operated by the United States National Security Agency (NSA) since 2007. (BEFORE OBAMA TOOK OFFICE)…

QUOTE; As the Nicene Church was establishing its official doctrines and replacing biblical Judaism with Catholicism ("Universalism"), it is a well known and easily established fact that they incorporated the teachings of many different religious systems. These early "church fathers" were attempting to establish a new and global political and religious authority in order to control every aspect of human life. (LONG BEFORE GOVERNMENT PROPAGANDA WAS A WAKE-UP CALL)

Woman with government subsidized 36DD boobs changes her mind

Woman with government subsidized 36DD boobs changes her mind

If ever there were a story that proves naysayers right about the perils of socialized medicine, it’s the story out of merry ol’ England of the young woman who received taxpayer funded breast enhancement surgery.
As bad as that may sound, it turns out she has changed her mind.
The United Kingdom’s National Health Service approved 23-year-old Josie Cunningham for the $7,000 surgery because being flat-chested caused “emotional distress.” Her breast size was enhanced from a 32A to 36DD.
“I could never go on holiday as I lived in terror of ever being seen in a bikini and could never set foot outside without a padded bra,” the poor dear said at the time.
After the surgery, Cunningham said her new boobs changed her life, adding that she “can’t wait to do topless and swimsuit photo shoots and become the new Katie Price.”
“I want the world to see the new me and I want money and fame just like Katie —and my new boobs can make it all happen,” she said.
Tragically, the Katie wannabe discovered that she is unable to find modeling work due to the negative attention surrounding her artificial boobs.
So the mother of two — speaking of tragedies — is asking taxpayers to foot the bill for her implants to be removed and reduced, according to the Mirror.
“I don’t want to spend my life being known as the girl with massive NHS boobs, so having smaller implants is the only option,” she said. She also thinks that the NHS is responsible for this surgery as well since it provided the means for the first one.
As it is, Cunningham alleged that people, presumably taxpayers, would follow her in the street, calling her a slut and demanding their money back.
You can’t make this stuff up.

10 Insanely Overpaid Public Employees

10 Insanely Overpaid Public Employees

Atlantic City has proven to be the land of the riches for some—or at least for cops. According to a report by the New Jersey State Commission of Investigation in 2009, 160 retiring police and firefighters received $13.7 million for unused sick leave—that’s in addition to hefty pension plans. Former police chief John Mooney takes the top spot with a pension of $147,016.

Padded pension plans are one thing—secret ones are another. In Georgia, two state pension funds, the Teachers Retirement System and Employees’ Retirement System, are actually prohibited by state law from disclosing pension data for more than 100,000 workers in the public sector. Perhaps the state’s afraid of a little public backlash—according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, of this wealth of retirees, 1,100 get six figures, including one who cashes in a pretty penny—almost $318,000 per year for life.

When it comes to government employees, there’s plenty of news about laid off social workers in Florida, furloughed forest rangers in Minnesota,  and underpaid teachers everywhere else. Yet even during these hard times, there are thousands of government employees who still earn great, big salaries – many of them hundreds of thousands more than the $400,000 Obama pulls down each year. In 2009, 347 Texas state employees earned more than the president; 53 of them made more than $600,000. In New York, 35 employees were paid over $400k last year. Since 2005, the number of Federal employees earning $150,000 plus has jumped tenfold: going from 12,399 to 171,689. Much of the increase has been in medicine. Doctors at veterans hospitals and prisons averaged $179,500 in 2010, up from $111,000 in 2005.
See our slideshow here on 10 insanely overpaid government employees. We reported all their yearly earnings, which in addition to base salary, includes bonuses, overtime pay, and other pay. The “other pay” can be things like unused sick days--$594,976 worth of them for one California employee – something private sector employees could only dream of. Oh, and did we mention all of them are men?

US agents laundered drug money

US agents laundered drug money: report

WASHINGTON — Anti-narcotics agents working for the US government have laundered or smuggled millions of dollars in drug proceeds to see how the system works and use the information against Mexican drug cartels, The New York Times reported Sunday.

Citing unnamed current and former federal law enforcement officials, the newspaper said the agents, primarily with the Drug Enforcement Administration, have handled shipments of hundreds of thousands of dollars in illegal cash across borders.

Some 45,000 people have been killed in Mexico since 2006, when its government launched a major military crackdown against the powerful drug cartels that have terrorized border communities as they battled over lucrative smuggling routes.

According to these officials, the operations were aimed at identifying how criminal organizations move their money, where they keep their assets and, most important, who their leaders are, the report said.

The agents had deposited the proceeds in accounts designated by traffickers, or in shell accounts set up by agents, the paper noted.

While the DEA conducted such operations in other countries, it began doing so in Mexico only in the past few years, The Times said.

As it launders drug money, the agency often allows cartels to continue their operations over months or even years before making seizures or arrests, the report said.

According to The Times, agency officials declined to publicly discuss details of their work, citing concerns about compromising their investigations.

But Michael Vigil, a former senior official who is currently working for a private contracting company called Mission Essential Personnel, is quoted by the paper as saying: "We tried to make sure there was always close supervision of these operations so that we were accomplishing our objectives, and agents weren?t laundering money for the sake of laundering money." source:
