Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker wins recall election
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Rep. Gwen Moore (D., Wis.) got down with her bad self at a Friday rally in Milwaukee, singing and dancing to the tune of “Hit The Road Jack” in front of a crowd of thousands.
"EAT SOME CROW GWEN, and Don't ya come back no more, no more..."
However, Politifact rated some of Moore’s lyrical claims, specifically those about Walker “gutting” tax credits for the poor, as “false.”
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Rep. Gwen Moore (D., Wis.) got down with her bad self at a Friday rally in Milwaukee, singing and dancing to the tune of “Hit The Road Jack” in front of a crowd of thousands.
Moore was speaking at rally for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, who is challenging incumbent Republican Gov. Scott Walker in Tuesday’s recall election, when she burst into song.
“Hit the road Scott!” Moore bellowed—a play on the rhythm and blues song made famous by Ray Charles. “Great Scott, Scott Walker, you gotta go baby. We don’t want you no more.”
Moore led the crowd through several verses and choruses of the song, railing against Walker’s policies while swaying back and forth to an imaginary beat.
Friday’s rally was the latest stop on the Gwen Moore Tour. She gave a similar performance in April.
However, Politifact rated some of Moore’s lyrical claims, specifically those about Walker “gutting” tax credits for the poor, as “false.”
Moore has represented Wisconsin’s Fourth District since 2005.
Madison, Wis. — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker beat back a recall challenge Tuesday, winning both the right to finish his term and a voter endorsement of his strategy to curb state spending, which included the explosive measure that eliminated union rights for most public workers.
The rising Republican star became the first governor in U.S. history to survive a recall attempt with his defeat of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and the union leaders who rallied for months against his agenda.
