Sandra Fluke’s No Fluke. She’s a Progressive Plant, a Femagogue
By now, all of us who listen to Conservative Talk Radio have heard the name Sandra Fluke. She’s the 23 year old Georgetown Law School student who was put on a witness list to testify before Congress, was deemed an inappropriate witness and who then was given a faux testimony opportunity by Nancy Pelosi and others. She “testified” not having free condoms and birth control pills was a financial, spiritual and health challenge for her and other students and insisted the fix for that was to force Georgetown, a private Catholic school, to provide her all the contraceptives she and her fellow students decided they need.
Turns out, not only is Ms. Fluke not the woman she was advertised to be, there’s a lot more to her story than we were told.
Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit is reporting that Ms. Fluke is a 30 year old, hard-core, feminist activist and not a helpless co-ed oppressed by Georgetown Law. It seems she intentionally chose Georgetown specifically to confront this issue.
Jammie Wearing Fools have even more details on her history as an activist and her service as the past President of Georgetown’s chapter of “Law Students for Reproductive Justice.”
I’m sure not every Progressive organization in the world is as goofy as they are sometimes portrayed by Conservatives. But “reproductive justice?” Seriously?

Sandra Fluke, Past President of Georgetown LSRJ, to Testify on Women’s Health
Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi announced today that the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee will hold a hearing Thursday, February 23, 2012, on the issue of women’s health. The sole witness at the hearing will be Ms. Sandra Fluke, a third-year law student at Georgetown University, who was blocked from testifying at a recent Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing by Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA). Instead, Chairman Issa brought forward a panel of all men to testify on this topic. For more information on the hearing, National Journal.
Written Testimony of Sandra Fluke, Past President of Georgetown LSRJ
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing on February 16, 2012, in which Georgetown LSRJ chapter leader Sandra Fluke was to give her testimony regarding contraceptive coverage. Ms. Fluke was ultimately not approved to testify on behalf of millions of women who believe in the importance of access to contraceptives. She and Committee members Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.), and Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) spoke with reporters outside the hearing room afterleaving in protest. You can now read Ms. Fluke’s full testimony here.
LSRJ Proudly Stands With Sandra Fluke
We are proud of our member and past president of Georgetown LSRJ, Sandra Fluke, for her courage and commitment in the face of cruelty. Fluke is the Georgetown law student whose contraceptive access advocacy has been called into question with language that falls, as Fluke said in her press statement, “far beyond the acceptable bounds of civil discourse.” Such personal attacks are intended to shame women out of advocacy and into silence, but Fluke refuses to back down, ”No woman deserves to be disrespected in this manner. This language is an attack on all women, and has been used throughout history to silence our voices.” Read LSRJ’s full statement of support.
