Story Retraction: Authorities Say Newtown Shooter Did Not Use Assault Weapon

Earlier today I posted an NBC News report about the type of weapons Adam Lanza used during his Sandy Hook rampage. That report was from December 15 and contained false information. According to the Newtown coroner, Lanza used a semi-automatic AR-15, not four handguns as the report said. The entire post has been retracted. I apologize for the error.

NO "ASSAULT WEAPON" USED IN NEWTON ATTACK ........

So they finally had to come out and admit it, now that the Coroner has released some info along with Police. An AR-15 Rifle or the so-called "Assault Weapon" was not used in the school shooting. The shooter even tried weeks earlier to buy a Rifle but was TURNED DOWN in the background check . . . So he had to kill his Mother to steal her rifle. There were initial reports right after the shooting, that Police found the AR-15 Rifle in his car, NOT IN THE SCHOOL. The Rifle was NOT used. The Shooter went into the school with 4 handguns. Not an Assault Rifle as the media has charged.

I remember in the initial hours of this shooting, the Police said they found the Rifle in the car. The News Media had a Pre-Planned Attack already waiting, to attempt to ban so-called ''assault weapons'' and jumped on that line of reporting, knowing it was a lie. Including people like Piers Morgan who said the shooter used an AR-15 that shoots hundreds of rounds per minute, as if it were a fully automatic machine gun. "

Sort of ironic that Clinton's "assault weapons" ban; enacted in 1994 didn't stop, prevent or even deter the Columbine shooters in 1999, and BTW, none of their weapons were "assault weapons".

We all remember the Virginia Tech shooting; 2007. Was a so called assault weapon used to kill 32 people? No, the wack job used semi-auto hand guns.

How about Gabby Giffords shooting in Arizona? Assault weapon? Nope, handgun.

What do all of these shootings have in common? It's not "assault weapons", it's mental wack jobs with guns. And it's the mental wack jobs part of the equation that libs don't want to address.
